When you’re planning on redesigning your bathroom, finding the best toilet paper holder may not be the first thing on your mind. It’s not like toilet paper won’t survive inside of its big plastic wrapper in sets of four, nine or more. However, having an extra toilet paper holder nearby (besides the one in the wall, if you have one already) certainly makes a difference for those awkward moments when you realize you’ve run out.
Having a toilet paper holder stand within reach also helps you avoid that awful duck walk to find toilet paper in a hallway closet or yelling for someone else in your home for assistance. And whether you’re looking for a modern toilet paper stand, something that is eye catching or a toilet paper stand that is a bit more low-key, these 20 choices below provide a little something for everybody. Check them out for potential bathroom upgrade ideas (and maybe the initiative to repaint your bathroom walls).
1. GLNLQ
Do you think cell phone insurance is unnecessary and skip it altogether when you buy a phone? And are you also someone who plays Russian Roulette with your phone, letting it hang out of your back or side pockets while using the restroom? You’re just daring it to fall into the water when you simply do not have to, with the help of this cell phone rack wall mount.
Key Features
Anti-corrosion, anti-rust
Stainless steel
Matte black finish
Installation is pretty intuitive. Just wipe the waterproof coating with a damp cloth and allow time air dry.
Once it has been carefully placed and settled with an adhesive pad (drilling optional), use the top holder for smartphones, paper towels, keys, drinks and any other loose item that you would prefer not to sit on the floor or your bag.
Cons
Adhesive may not stick, even after waiting 24 hours
Sharp edges
The upside of this toilet paper holder is you can avoid water damage near toilets. The downside is it may instigate your guests to have public bathroom conversations on speakerphone.
2. Ewartwoods
Whether you consider yourself a Queen Bee, are a nature lover or just want to have toilet tissue on hand, this toilet paper holder helps you keep tabs on when you are about to run out.
Key Features
Wooden wall shelf
Hooks included to hang shelf
6 inches x 8.6 inches
Whether you choose to use hooks, double-sided tape or both to add this to your bathroom wall, it is definitely a standout piece. Because of the size of it, nails may not be an option for installation. Make sure you have enough wall space beforehand so it does not collide with your entrance door, shower door or other cabinets.
Cons
Only suitable for standard rolls (4 ¾ inches)
No warranty information immediately available on Amazon
This honeycomb rack also comes in grey, white or black if you prefer a different color.

3. mDesign Freestanding
Multi-shelves like this one give people the ability to use a toilet paper holder like this in various ways: to hold a roll of toilet paper for immediate use; two extra rolls to insert as needed; and an extra storage space for phones, notes, wipes, etc.
Key Features
Free-standing option to move anywhere in bathroom
No wall mount fixtures needed
Raised feet on the base
The raised feet on the toilet paper holder (7.5 inches x 5.25 inches x 23.1 inches) base help to make sure the toilet tissue does not become damp if water is on the floor. Whether it’s stepping out of a shower or mopping the bathroom floor, this elevates the toilet tissue so one end of it won’t be ruined. And the finish on the steel wire toilet paper holder is rust resistant.
Cons
Mega rolls do not have an ideal fit
Several online reviewers reported screws missing or pulling off once toilet tissue removed
No warranty information immediately available on Amazon
While this toilet tissue paper holder can be used anywhere, it comes in especially handy for small bathrooms that need storage space. Whether it’s a condo, apartment, cabin or even an RV, this makes a bathroom feel less cluttered.
4. TQVAI
Although several of these options have standalone shelves that either mount to walls or on the floor, why not add the toilet paper holder directly on the toilet?
Key Features
Ideal for tanks with 7-inch width (minimum)
4-inch layer between two rolls
Clip inside of toilet tank: 1-1.24 inches
Skip all the hammers, nails, double-sided tape, screwdrivers, etc. Simply take the lid off of the toilet tank and hang it in place. Close the lid again, and the holder is ready for use.
Made of steel with a chrome finish, this anti-corrosion holder is waterproof and rustproof. Because the bracket sits so high inside of the toilet, toilet water won’t be an issue when it comes to rust.
Cons
Several reviewers complained that toilet tissue wouldn’t stay on hook
No warranty information immediately available on Amazon
If, for some reason, you decide that you’re not thrilled with this toilet paper rack in a bathroom, it can also be used for other purposes. Hang everything from watches and bracelets to hooking your belts.

5. MARMOLUX ACC
If you want to add a bit of pop to your bathroom, go with gold. This toilet paper holder is sleek, elegant and stands out in your decor. It may look especially nice on bathroom walls with darker paint (ex. blue or black).
Key Features
Open-arm design
Stainless steel construction
2019 fashion gold brushed
This rust-proof hardware should sturdily hold itself in place with the help of stainless steel screws and premium-quality anchors. With its advanced abrasion-proof flexibility, fading is minimal. It has been reportedly been through a salt spray test to confirm the material will avoid spotting, scratches, tarnishes and corrosion.
Cons
No warranty information immediately available on Amazon
If you hate dealing with toilet paper that gets stuck on its roll or plastic hooks that are either too stiff or pop off too easily, this open-arm design makes it that much easier to add a new roll on as needed.

6. Spirich Home
If you have a snug bathroom that simply doesn’t have enough storage space in a medicine cabinet for your smaller items, this could do the trick. Avoid trying to balance everything in your pantry closet and use this storage cabinet instead for free-standing items plus to hold extra toilet tissue within arm’s length.
Key Features
High-quality manufactured wood
White finish
Cubby hole holds up to 12 rolls of toilet paper or plunger
Depending on what you want this cabinet to be used for, the size of it will either be just right for toiletries, medication and wallet-sized products or it won’t be big enough. Before purchasing a product like this, make sure that the size (22.83 inches x 19.69 inches x 6.45 inches) is realistic for the purpose you would like to use it for.
Cons
Assembly is required
No toilet paper holder for immediate use
While this slim design may initially seem odd for those who already have a medicine cabinet, think of how many times you’ve opened it and things came crashing down into the sink. If this is you, you may want to invest in a slide-out storage unit such as this one. All parts are numbered for easy installation.
7. Sumnacon
While some bathroom accessories and furniture offer a plain, modern option, having a conversation piece toilet paper holder is also fun. For nature lovers, this butterfly option is a pretty touch.
Key Features
Can be hung on the wall or free-standing (back of the toilet, table, countertop, or floor)
Easy to install with two screws
Butterfly-shaped design
This rustic toilet paper holder stand is both stylish and simple, but it’s also designed to be sturdy and heavy. It’s made to not deform or rust easily.
Cons
Depending on roll size, may only hold four rolls
If you’re worried about closet space or counterspace, this toilet paper holder provides some options. Easily visible just by stepping in the room, replenishing your supply is easier than toilet paper holders behind closet doors.

8. ElbeeHome
Unlike other toilet paper holders with a stationary stand, this particular toilet paper holder displays an option to add decor on top. It’s up to you whether you want to use this speech for decorative measures or to make it more convenient for others to store personal items.
Key Features
Stainless steel
Arms holds most Android and iPad tablets (10 inches or smaller)
Flexible arm to adjust for reading
Whether you want to use the arm to adjust a smartphone or tablet for readability or to just keep it in place, both options are available to you. This holder (3.5 inches x 4.5 inches x 7.5 inches) is stylish and practical. The stainless steel will ideally stand the test of time when it comes to durability.
Cons
Holder easier to secure against solid wood instead of drywall
If you’re someone who is constantly laying your phone down in multiple spots and forgetting where you found it last, this item may come in handy just to know where it is at all times. Your device can firmly be held in place while the flexible arm can be positioned in the perfect spot
9. Kes

Key Features
T-304 premium grade, stainless steel
Added 18/8 chromium/nickel
Corrosion and rust proof
This hand-polished stainless steel finish material is used to avoid daily scratches, corrosion and tarnishing. The modern look of this toilet tissue paper holder is also made with the option to conceal screws.
Cons
Mounting material may not work effectively
If you’re not a big fan of assembling products, no worries here. This comes in one piece with no assembly required. The pre-drilled hardware is also on the item as is, but one reviewer successfully chose mounting tape instead of drilling.
10. mDesign
Whether you place this storage organizer on the floor, a cabinet, a shelf or a toilet lid, you can get creative with the ways in which you use it. Store it with extra toilet tissue, magazines or other loose items before using the bathroom facilities.
Key Features
Brushed finish
Storage of six rolls
Handles attached on each side
This organizer (18 x 6 x 9.5) can keep your bathroom clutter free. While ideally it can be used to store a couple of extra toilet paper rolls, it also doubles as a handy option to keep shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, mouthwash and other common bathroom essentials nearby.
This storage unit is an instant relief for people with bathrooms that are too small or with shelves that just aren’t tall enough to hold items bigger than that of a medicine cabinet.
Cons
Multiple people complained about how easily it can dent
Whether you’re in a dorm room, trailer or multi-bedroom home, this is flexible for all rooms. Just clean the holder with a damp cloth as needed.
11. BirdRock Home
Unlike some stationary baskets that require people to choose either extra toilet tissue rolls or magazines, this one is made for both. This is specifically a relief for magazine subscribers who need to keep their issues presentable and not all over the floor.
Key Features
Hand-woven basket
Removable wooden dowel to add additional toilet tissue paper
Light woven seagrass material
If you’re taking a long bath and want to put the book or magazine away, without it getting wet, this toilet paper holder’s side pocket is useful. And checking out the reading material on occasion can also help you stay on top of adding extra toilet paper rolls as needed. This holder is 13 inches x 13.5 inches x 16 inches.
Cons
Multiple people complained about it needing to be bigger in certain spaces
If the basket seems to be more suitable for one bathroom than another, no worries. The seagrass material is durable, and the basket can easily be picked up by hand to transport heavier items around. Magazine subscribers already know that after a while, magazines can carry extra weight.
12. Gagster
Let’s just say you don’t have a soft close toilet seat and somebody in your place refuses to put the seat down. What should you do? Record a message reminding this person to just put the seat down.
Key Features
Talking toilet paper spindle
On/off switch
Fits most toilet paper holders
While this toilet paper holder does not have an option for extra rolls, it does provide something that others can’t compete with: a surprise bathroom message in your voice. “Wipe the seat.” “Put the seat down.” “Wash your hands.” “Get your shoes off my bathroom rug.” Get creative with whatever message you prefer. Whenever the toilet paper rolls, the message plays.
Cons
Message may play repeatedly for multiple toilet rolls
Only records up to six seconds of sound
You will need two AA batteries in order to use this audio perk, so keep additional batteries on hand to make sure your reminders are heard. If you live alone, it may be a better idea to turn the switch off until guests come over. You already know what your message will say. Your guests are the ones that need to hear it anyway. Save on batteries.
13. HOMBYS
Some people read or play smartphone games while they’re in the bathtub. Maybe you would prefer to lean back and play imaginary games of Tic-Tac-Toe. This toilet paper holder lets you have at it.
Key Features
Paulownia wood
No chemical treatment
High-quality, responsibly-sourced
The tic-tac-toe holder include three letter “X.” Keep all three in place, or re-arrange as needed. Each piece has its own distinct natural wood grain and small knot structure.
Cons
One user received broken wood pieces twice
Assembly is fairly simple for DIYers. However, if you mount it and decide it’s not for you, you have 30 days to return it.

14. ADKO
If you have a cat (or even a dog), there is a pretty good possibility that you’ve found toilet paper rolled onto the floor. And it wasn’t by you.
Key Features
Premium 18/8 stainless steel
Anti-corrosion, anti-rust and anti-tarnish
Hand brushed nickel finish
With no sharp edges, the semi-automatic switch opens and closes to replenish toilet tissue as needed. Additionally, the cover helps avoid water splashing and mischievous pets.
Cons
One user’s lid wore off after two months
The adhesive for this holder is designed to work on marble, tile, smooth wood, solid metal and glass surfaces.
15. PlayDo Vintage Cast Iron Dog
Whether you’re a dog person or a giraffe person, there are several animal-friendly options to choose from.
Key Features
Holds two rolls of toilet paper
Five animal designs
High-quality iron designs
You can pretty much predict where the long areas are on the giraffe and ostrich. But the dog tooting his booty in the air, with his tail fluffed up, is admittedly the cutest one of the bunch. And there are other dog options so enjoy either one in a vintage rusty brown color.
Cons
Toilet paper may fall over dog’s shape so it’s not immediately visible
If you find that you’d rather use one of these handcrafted iron sculptures in another room where it may not accidentally get kicked over, the holder also doubles as a bracelet/wrist/bangle organizer.
Bottom Line
Who would have ever thought all these options would be available for toilet paper holders? From a practical standpoint, especially if you live in a large family household, keeping track of toilet tissue is necessary. You don’t want to get down to the last roll and be stuck making an emergency trip. And for guest bathrooms that are not regularly used, it also helps to reserve extra toilet tissue rolls.
In addition to extra rolls, almost all of these options available come in handy to hold other items (i.e., magazines, books, smartphones, tablets, keys, flower pots, etc.). In a world where smartphone sales forecast may reach almost $110 billion this year, it makes sense that so many modern holders would have a horizontal level option to place your gadgets on. But whether you prefer decorative options, flat-level items or large storage items, just make sure the accessory is something you’re proud to display.
