Battle of the pet hair removal vacuum for a furless couch
Dirt Devil vs Tzumi: Which handheld vacuum is better at pet hair removal?
The Dirt Devil Express Lithium Cordless Hand Vacuum was an excellent, lightweight vacuum to clean the car I owned for 15 years. This vacuum, however, didn’t make it past two years. I wasted money on buying backup filters that I have no idea what to do with. What I do know is the vacuum does a good job of cleaning up salt and snow pellets on car floor mats, along with everyday car debris, but it couldn’t pick up pet hair on my car seats even if I scooped up a clump and jammed it into the nose.
That was the first lesson I learned about handheld vacuums; some are good for one type of cleaning but not another. The second lesson was that as much as cordless vacuums help its users avoid awkward yanking and pulling, along with trying to find an outdoor outlet, this Dirt Devil vacuum had a frustrating habit of dying within about 20 minutes — even with the four-hour full charge. By year two, it would run for about five minutes and just die.

And the third lesson was that I saved myself a lot of frustration by brushing my couch before I used a vacuum. It helps to “brush up” stubborn-to-grab hair, specifically for short-haired dogs. Whether you use an actual dog brush or the kind of dog brush needed for clothes, supplies like FurBeGone Brush can significantly expedite the vacuuming process from your car seats to your couch seats.
But the Dirt Devil handheld vacuum doesn’t even slightly compete with the Tzumi Ion Vac Wireless Handheld Rechargeable Vacuum.
